What to do in Verbier apart from ski

Although Verbier is world-renowned for its skiing, especially the freeride it has to offer, there’s more to Verbier than skiing alone. For those who are not as keen to ski whilst in Verbier, or would like to try something different, we’ve compiled a list of different activities in and around town to try out:

If you’re into sports and want to try something other than skiing then there’s an abundance of different sports and activities to try around town. If you still want to explore the spectacular alpine views that Verbier and its surroundings have to offer then why not try snowshoeing? It’s a great way to explore the outdoors at a more chilled pace than skiing or skinning. If you’re new to snowshoeing, or would like some guidance around Verbier, then Sarah from TrailrandoVerbier offers guided snowshoeing tours every Friday at 8.30am from Place Planche, just check out our events page for more information.

As well as exploring the outdoors, you can also try a variety of sports indoors (for the white out days!). Verbier has its own sports centre which has a swimming pool, squash courts, bouldering wall and ice-rink for everyone to enjoy. If you’re looking for something with more of a focus then make sure you check out Wholey Cow, a health and fitness studio where you can join in a variety of classes from yoga and pilates to boxing and spin classes. Check out their timetable for more information.

For those looking for an easier pace of life then there’s no shortage of spas in-town! Detox and refuel at the AWAY® Spa at the W Hotel where 800 m² of peaceful retreat invites you to completely relax and indulge or enjoy the eternal snows of the “Grand Combin” in the Nuxe Spa at the Chalet d’Adrien. If you’re willing to go further afield then head down the valley for some thermal baths. Both the Bains de Saillon and Lavey les Bains are within an hour drive of Verbier and offer spectacular views from down the valley.

There’s a huge variety of spots in town for the night owls out there! If you’re looking for something with a relaxed vibe for après-ski then head to the Pub Mont Fort (their happy hour is from 4pm-5pm) or for something a bit livelier go to the Farinet Après-Ski which has live music from 6pm-9pm. The Loft Bar and the T-Bar are also great places for a relaxed late-night drink or three. If you’d rather brush shoulders with the celebrities in town then head to the Farinet Lounge Bar in the evening and if you’d like to party on until the early hours, then make a move to the Farm Club to continue the party. Le Rouge also offers some great après-ski with their terrace catching the last of the sun in Verbier.

For the kids

There’s plenty for the kids to enjoy in-town. From the ice-rink to the cinema there’s loads for the whole family to enjoy. Why not do some outdoor activities such as mini-golf, trampolining or tennis? If you want to shelter from the elements then you can go to the sports centre where there’s a full sized swimming pool for the older children and the toddler pool for the smaller ones, catering for all ages. If you’re looking to leave your children for an hour or so then you can leaved them at the Petit Verbier crèche in Brasserie Le Bec which is always run by a trained professional.
