Tom's Pick for Enduro Gear
Tom from the Mountain Air team has all the best gear recommendations right here for a day out on the Val de Bagnes bike trails and beyond.
Enduro ESSENTIALS
Evoc hip pack 3l – use this super well organised and thought out hip bag to carry all the essentials for a day riding here in Verbier and around the enduro trails of the area. Inside you should have at least one spare tube. I use a tubilito as it’s small, light and very strong. A multi tool with chain breaker, Tubeless repair kit with plugs, tyre levers, spare chain link x 2, puncture repair kit, light for the bike if it’s not already on there. Shock pump and tyre pump, spare brake pads. Some power bars, or haribo!
Enduro PROTECTION
I use the Sam Hill light knee pads, they are small enough to roll and fit in my bum bag if I need to, but also offer decent protection for enduro trails. Helmet can not be undervalued. I have the troy lee A3, it has two densities of foam for high and low speed impact, MIPS as you would expect. Changeable interior foam pads that are antibacterial and a visor that can easily be adjusted to accommodate googles or glasses. Some nice gloves from FOX, that protect the hands but are not too hot.
Enduro CLOTHING
FOX Flexair is my preferred model of clothing, it’s light and comfortable. Moves in all the right places. Breathes where it needs to but keeps you protected from sun and wind when necessary.
Enduro BIKES
Orange Switch 7 is an amazing bike for the terrain we have here. It’s burly enough to handle the most challenging of Verbier's descent but light enough to be pedalled up some technical trails when necessary.
