| 13-16.08.2026 | Verbier Bike Festival | ||||
The Verbier Bike Festival is a major cycling celebration that attracts both thrill-seekers and families looking to enjoy the great outdoors. Whether you come to test the latest models from major brands or simply explore the marked trails of the Val de Bagnes, there’s something for everyone. The routes on offer let you discover little-known corners of the valley. For the more adventurous, daily challenges add excitement to the experience: speed, orienteering, and endurance events. Beyond the sporting activities, the festival highlights local cuisine. The flagship event, the Rando Gourmande, is the best example of this. This bike ride, punctuated by gourmet stops at local restaurants, invites participants to discover regional specialties as they ride. Alpine cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, and Valais wines: cycling becomes an excuse for a tasting tour. You can also explore the Discovery Trail and the lively Event Village. The beating heart of the festival remains its village. Several exhibitors—including most major bike brands—showcase their latest innovations. Thanks to bike test sessions, you can try out many different models right there. The festival also welcomes families, with activities for children as well as musical entertainment. Registration is open until the day of the event. You can bring your own bike or rent one on-site. |

| 22.08.2026 | Territoire inharmonique | ||||
A sound performance by artist Christophe Burgess, featuring *Carillon Sauvage*, in which the traditional art of the carillonneur engages in a dialogue with the wolves of the valley. An Alpine ritual designed to make the non-human territory resonate to the sound of sirens and bells. “Carillon Sauvage” is a sound performance using a sculptural machine that reproduces the traditional playing style of Valais carillonneurs. The instrument faithfully simulates the carillon of the Martigny bell tower. This unique instrument allows for performance outside the bell tower and enables the live exploration and transformation of sound. The performance contributes to the development of the new “Alpine Punk” narrative framework, a subgenre of science fiction that highlights the social, environmental, and spiritual concerns of the inhabitants of the Alps. |
